New green building regulations drive industry transformation

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development officially released China's first zero carbon building industry standard yesterday, which clearly requires the full implementation of carbon emission quotas for newly built public buildings starting from 2025 and expanding to residential projects by 2027. The new regulations will promote the large-scale application of technologies such as Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) and ground source heat pumps.
